SCA Background The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) has been working in Afghanistan since 1982, presently managing development programmes concerning Health, Education, Rural Livelihoods and Community Governance, with a total annual budget of roughly USD 40 million. The total number of staff is around 5,500. During the last 10 years SCA has undertaken a change process moving from a primarily humanitarian service delivery approach towards more of a developmental role, putting increasing emphasis on capacity development, rights-based programming and outcome orientation. The mission of SCA is to empower individuals, communities and local organizations, primarily in rural areas and with particular focus on women, girls, boys and vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, so that they may participate fully in society and influence their own development. Scope of work: The Business Development & Loan Officer is responsible for supervision and management of Disability project business development trainings and revolving loan distribution and collection. He/she is responsible to coordinate the business development and revolving loan activities under the leadership of senior supervisor Community Based Rehabilitation and with coordination & support of field supervisors and Community Based Rehabilitation Workers

Follow up on revolving loan activities and provide support to the Field Supervisors and CBR Workers Frequently monitor the loan activities in the field, at least 40% of time should be in the field Maintain a well functional and responsive database for loan beneficiaries To facilitate the screening process of new loan applications Create close coordination mechanism with Vocational training officer to work together for the skills and business development purpose Develop/Design tracer mechanism of the loan holders to realize the socio economic changes in the life of person with disabilities Develop a Good tracking/operation system for the loan in the field beside the loan database Provide/Support business development trainings to vocational training graduated and as well as loan beneficiaries Facilitate Market feasibility study, develop efficient marketing strategies and ensure the quality of product according to the target market standard To make annual needs assessments for various business related trainings and submit to Senior Supervisor Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) To collect data, make analysis and writ narrative report regarding his/her activities on monthly basis and advice Senior Supervisor Community Based Rehabilitation of diversification from the annual work plan/action plan whenever needed Implement the marketing training/market linkage manual for the trainees and as well as to loan holders Analyses and process the bad loan cases for write off physically go the field to verify loan defaulters through interview with their guarantors

Bachelor’s degree in business administration (BBA), Commerce (B. Com), Economics, or development studies. 3-4 years’ relevant experience, especially within an NGO, UN agencies or similar organization, with strong knowledge and experience of microcredits and small scale business package developments Fluency in English and local languages Able to travel outside of duty station to the field areas
